What is the most important part of my web site?
The first webpage that visitors see when they go to your site is the most crucial. If it doesn't grab their interest quickly, they will never bother to try the rest of your site. Make the "Home Page" look inviting, interactive, easy-to-understand, well-organized and not cluttered.
Give just enough information to let them know what this site is going to offer them, and answer their question: "Am I going to find what I want on this site?"
How Long Will It Take To Get My Site Up?
Actually uploading it to the Internet takes only a matter of minutes. Building it in the first place should take as long as it takes. This is not disregarding the question. It is important that before your web site goes 'live' that you are sure that it is going to do the job that you intended. The actual web design process is only a part of that.
Don't be daunted as we will talk you through the early stages, in effect part of our job is to demystify the whole thing for you. You'll be surprised what you can do on a small budget!
What are web themes?
A theme is a unified set of design elements and colour schemes that you can apply to your web pages to give them a standard look. Using a theme is a quick and easy way to make sure your web pages are visually consistent and appealing. Microsoft FrontPage includes many complete themes that you can use right away, or you can create new themes based on existing ones.
You can apply a theme to one or more pages or to an entire web site. If you apply a theme to all pages in a web site, the theme becomes the default theme for that web site. When you create new pages, the default theme is applied automatically. If you change or remove the default theme, the change is applied to the entire web site.
Creating your own theme is a useful way of 'branding' your site.
Can I learn to manage my own site?
Managing a basic web site is not difficult. This can be explained very easily once the relevant software has been bought.
